Awareity CEO Rick Shaw Named 2011 Risk Innovator and Responsibility Leader
Awareity is excited to announce that Awareity’s CEO and President, Rick Shaw, has been named a 2011 Risk Innovator and Responsibility Leader for Higher Education by Risk and Insurance Magazine.
Risk Innovator winners are chosen for their ability to identify emerging risks for their industry, to apply strategic risk utilization and to develop creative, out-of-the-ordinary solutions for risk mitigation. Responsibility Leaders were selected for leadership in the risk and insurance management arena and their commitment to doing what is right, instead of what is easier.
Anyone that follows the news has seen and heard about alarming trends involving student safety, workplace violence, suicides, ethics, fraud, information breaches, compliance failures and lawsuits. Shaw is finding ways to stop such incidents from occurring. Well done is always better than well said, but traditional approaches (binders, handbooks, shared drives, intranets, one-size-fits-all annual trainings, etc.) are only capable of “well said”, so Shaw set out develop a 21st century solution to help organizations ensure better results.
Shaw was selected for the development of TIPS – a comprehensive platform helping schools and organizations improve incident reporting, safety, prevention, risk management, compliance and more. TIPS is designed to help colleges and other institutions identify troubled students or employees, and to intervene before they harm themselves or others.
